If there’s one thing I learned in my four years at Robert Morris University, it’s that we are family. When one person is down, we always found a way to rally together. I met my best friends at this school.
It’s time to rally again.
Recent RMU graduate Billy Giles didn’t ask for our help, but I want to give it to him anyway.
Billy played two years on the RMU basketball team. Recently, his 4-year-old son Cameron was diagnosed with leukemia.
As someone who has lived in Virginia the past 1.5 years, I’ve had the pleasure of making small talk with Billy’s family at games at Richmond and Virginia. Billy went to Douglas Freeman High School in the Richmond area. His family has been nothing but kind and funny. His son truly can brighten a room just by walking in.
The family set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover some of the medical bills. They’re closing in on their target. If you can help, please do. No parent should have to go through what Billy and Cameron’s mom, Brittany, are going through. Let alone how tough this must be on Cameron.
Giles family: We’re rooting for you.
Robert Morris: Let’s show once again why we are the cream of the crop. Help if you can.
