The college basketball season is right around the corner, but recruiting never stops. RMU has received two verbal commits in the past week, including a big one today.
First up, 2017 Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary’s PG Jon Williams has committed to Robert Morris.
Williams is a quick 5-10 guard that can handle the ball. He also hails from the same high school as LeBron James (not that that means a whole lot). He’s made a major impact for one of the best teams in the state: Williams Grows as PG
Today, 6-5 wing Koby Thomas –Imhotep Charter High School, Philadelphia PA– committed to RMU. Here is his verbal commits page with highlights: Verbal Commits
Thomas had offers from multiple A-10 schools, including city rival Duquesne, per City of Basketball Love.
Per CoBL, “Overall: Certainly an intriguing prospect, Thomas has a sure-fire Division I body and athleticism, but still needs to develop his basketball skills before he’s playing like a D-I prospect on a consistent basis.” For more, check out CoBL.
Thomas is a HUGE get for Andy Toole and the type of high level athlete that can really dominate in the NEC. He’ll need to refine his basketball skills a bit more, but should provide an instant impact from the day he steps onto campus.
A note: He also comes from the same high school as David Appolon, so Toole has a lot of familiarity
More to come.
